New Opposing Viewpoint Phamplets

The library has just added a bunch of new Opposing Viewpoint Phamplets to their collection. Some of the topics range from Abortion, Health Care, and Euthanasia to Adoption and STD's. Are you working on a research paper? Come up to the library and visit our new information section.

Library Gets Frame Relay Internet Connection
The library recently purchased, with the help of a grant, a frame relay connection for the library. In doing this, the library's four internet ready computers can eliminate the dial-up connection allowing for faster connection speeds.

Handouts Available
The library has many free handouts that patrons can take if they wish to have them. Currently handouts range from Southwestern Illinois College Spring Class Books, Money managing books, and many other very nice information. Please come to the library and feel free to take as many handouts as you wish.

Library Expansion Project
The Marissa Library is currently working on an expansion project. Thanks in part to a large donation from Mr. Michael Ogilvy, the library has made arrangements to purchase the old Tom Boy store from Mr. Shaw. The library will then be housed in both it's currently location, as well as expanding into the new building. There is a copy of the plans posted in the library. Please stop by the library to see what our future holds. We are also asking for donations from the commuinty to help with the cost of remodeling the new building.
