After being housed at several locations in the city, a brick building was constructed  in 1886 to serve as the Marissa Public School.  It was located at the present Elementary School site at 206 E. Fulton.  In 1928 it was torn down and the main building of the current school was constructed to replace it.   This photo was taken about 1915.
