This is an interesting photo of the aftermath of the big fire of 1902 which destroyed three blocks of the business district.  This view was taken from in front of White's Lumber (also destroyed) looking east up Church St. The Presbyterian Church can be seen in the background.  On the right is the debris left from the Hamilton House.  Note the stand material on the left behind the woman.  These are blocks of ice that were stored in the building.  The fire consumed the structure but the large chunks of ice remained.
